As a web-designer, I’ve always had to deal with extra work when i wanted to screenshot a webpage design. I used to do it manually, taking bit by bit the visible portion and then joining them together. It used to be a real headache! So i did a bit of googling and came across a really good firefox add-on.

It’s a firefox add-on called “Screengrab“. It can screenshot the visible portion, the entire page, or only a selection. The same can also be applied for adding it to the clipboard. I highly recommend you get it if you wanna make grabbing a screenshot of your webpage easier, be it for a client or for ThemeForest

PS: If you have a large resolution, and want the screenshot at a smaller resolution, use the “Resize” feature in Firefox’s “Web Developer” toolbar (i have a custom size of 1024×768 pixels added.)

Many designers face this issue. Suppose you code a website, it works great in all browsers. But you don’t know about IE6, and you WANT TO check it! What many users do is somehow install a virtual machine, get IE6 and do loads of headaches and time wasting. I just found a simple and great way to check your website or template in IE6.

This not only checks in IE6 but you can start from IE3!!!

Nothing too complicated, its just a small software which installs Internet Explorer versions you select, and run them individually instead of overwriting your current IE version.

The software is developed by TredoSoft and is called Multiple IEs, so far i have found this useful, and i recommend you to download this if you wanna test your sites or templates in IE6. You can just install IE6 or even install previous versions…

What do i mean by the title? Well, sometimes you click on a text/image in your template and it gets a dotted-line rectangle selection, which looks ugly and you wanna remove it.

This thing bothered me a bit, so with a bit of help i found out how to remove them.

Its really easy, all you need to add into the css is:

outline: none;

Or, you could disable outlines in all of the document by add it in the body or html or you could add this somewhere in the css:

* {
	outline: none;
}

The * is a wildcard so it will be applied everywhere…

Something weird is happening. Someone has seemed to register on many websites and forums (cant be a bot because a bot only works under one type which could be a vbulletin forum or a wordpress site, but here all types of sites) using my username “campolar”. Just posting this for you to know, they are NOT ME! Anything which happens with a username called “campolar” who does spam is NOT ME. I am trying to get my hand on those, but i may be out of luck. I’ll keep you guys updated…

Hey, i made this quite long time back and was posted on my old blog. A few sites linked it as one of the top fireworks tutorials, so i decided to post it back. When i made this, Fireworks CS4 hadn’t been released, so its the previous CS3 version

We all keep hitting viruses. Last week I was somehow hit by a malware known as sdra64.exe. It has many other names, which you can check on the malware’s profile on Prevx. It is hard to delete, you can’t delete it because its being used in the registry. If you remove it from the registery, it comes back. So HOW TO REMOVE IT? I was able to, it wasn’t too hard, just a bit of thinking. If you have this, and wanna remove it ASAP, then you wanna read on

Note: You need to be logged onto an administrative account to follow the instructions below!

When you go to delete the sdra64.exe file located in the system32 folder, you can’t delete it because it says its being used. And yes, its being used in the registery. To clear it from the registery, open your registry editor by typing in regedit in Start > Run. Once there follow:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE]\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Winlogon

Once there, look for the entry called “userinit”. In that you will see that the data includes “C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdra64.exe”. All you have to do is edit it, and replace it all with “C:\WINDOWS\system32\Userinit.exe,” (without quotations). Once you do that it disappears. But if you move out of that registry directory and come back in, you see that the sdra64.exe is added again. That keeps on happening.

This is where we will get a bit tricky. Start by ending all your unnecessary processes, which includes chat messengers, download managers, and other programs you installed including your antivirus. Once done that, start ending the svchost.exe processes. You will then get a countdown telling the computer will shutdown in 60 secs.

After the counter starts, go back to the register editor and replace everything in the userinit data with “C:\WINDOWS\system32\Userinit.exe” (without quotations) but DON’T PRESS ENTER OR CLICK OK YET! Wait for the countdown to end. Click OK when the counter almost ends (i pressed it betweek 1 and 0 seconds). As soon as you click and the counter ends, your computer will be restarted.

What happened is that we edited the registry and gave the virus no time to come back (because the computer shutted down). After your computer starts again, you should be able to delete the C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdra64.exe file. If you can’t, just refollow the steps again. And if you have, be happy (thank me too!!! ).

You have removed the sdra64.exe virus, but is your pc still safe? I highly recommend you to download, install and scan using a free small tool called Prevx. You can download the free home and scan using it. It requires a license to delete most virusses (Surely worth the CHEAP price), if you’re a techy guy, you can see where the virus is and delete it manually (but prevx still saves time). Thats it.
