Top 5 Must-Have WordPress Plugins
We all have blogs, we all have quite a number of plugins installed. But if we setup a new wordpress blog, we need to sort a big list of plugins to install. So I’ve decided to make this short list of 5 must-have plugins. Without these, I doubt you have a proper blog 😛
Hope you enjoy it.
1. Login LockDown
The wordpress.org description of this plugin is “Login LockDown records the IP address and timestamp of every failed login attempt. If more than a certain number of attempts are detected within a short period of time from the same IP range, then the login function is disabled for all requests from that range.” As wordpress itself doesn’t have any protection against bruteforce, and the default usernames are usually “admin”, this is a must-have plugin to increase the security of your blog.
2. Akismet
Who likes spam? No one does. And I doubt there is any smarter anti-spam dude as Akismet. Brought by Semper Fi Web Design, its one of the must-have plugin. Without this, you can forget about a spam-free blog.
3. All in One SEO Pack
Search engine optimization is very important if you want good traffic from search engines. This plugin is very self-explanatory. All i can say is, you have to install it 🙂
4. Sociable
Social networks are a good way to share useful, and cool information. Therefore social networks are a good source of traffic. Socialble is a plugin which adds social buttons of your choice to your blog posts/pages. This is a must-have too!
5. TweetMeme Button
Seen one of those “Retweet” buttons on blogs? Perhaps you’ve even used it a few times; and because of that, you already know why you need one! Twitter is one great source of traffic!
At the end, I’d just like to tell you that I already use all of these plugins 😀 And don’t forget to retweet this 😉
